ONE OCEAN, ONE FUTURE FOUNDATION
Justin Etzin is an avid environmentalist and the founder of the One Ocean, One Future Foundation.
OOOF is dedicated to protecting the ocean and its habitats for future generations.
The mission of the One Ocean, One Future Foundation is to raise global awareness and prevent the destruction of our fragile oceans.
Justin Etzin founded OOOF and since then, OOOF has been creating infrastructure to protect the natural state of ecosystems and collaborating with other foundations and conservations teams to raise funds and awareness.
Environmental protection is considered a cultural value in the Seychelles. Justin wanted to bring these same cultural values to countries across the globe, ensuring that our fragile oceans are protected for future generations.
The One Ocean, One Future Foundation believes that in order for the oceans to be saved, there needs to be a fundamental change in our thinking. There is no challenge currently facing the ocean that does not have a solution.
The OOOF Foundation works with influencers from the world of Film, Music, Art & Fashion to raise global awareness to prevent the destruction of our fragile oceans. OOOF collaborates on a number of projects to create infrastructure to preserve the natural state of fragile habitats.
Finley Cay Island project
The Finley Cay Island project is a new project by Justin Etzin and the OOOF Foundation to develop new technology and a new form of architecture specifically designed for delicate ecosystems. The goal is to develop a new type of architecture where the structures are fully self-sufficient, utilising solar and wind power, and can be installed and removed without disturbing the surrounding area. While these zero impact structures are being specifically designed for delicate ecosystems, we believe that this technology is key for future developments across the world and reducing the impact humans have on the environment.
Justin Etzin is excited to announce that Finley Cay has been chosen as the first proposed site for the installation of this new eco-tech. Finley Cay is an island in the Bahamas, often referred to as ‘Bird Island’ due to its abundance of White Crowned Pigeons. The OOOF Foundation is working with renowned species experts to preserve and protect these birds.
The proposed structures are built on stilts offering minimal soil disruption, the unique shape provides great resistance to hurricanes. Completely powered by the sun and wind, they utilize the most advanced eco-friendly technologies available. Built completely off site, the structures can be laid down quickly with no disturbance to the surrounding area.
This ecologically sound tent is engineered as a permanent structure, yet can be raised in just a few weeks and disassembled without a trace.
